Crafting Timeless Spaces

Founded in 2004 by João Urbano, Manuel Arez and Pedro Espírito Santo, and later strengthened by the addition of Ana Veiga, Conceitos de Arte is an architecture and interior design studio distinguished by its integrated approach to space, attention to detail and commitment to creating a distinctive identity for every project.

Throughout its history, the studio has developed projects across a variety of contexts and scales, from hospitality and restaurants to commercial spaces and private residences, combining experience, aesthetic sensibility and a thorough understanding of each client’s needs. Every project begins with an interpretation of the place, the way of life and the expectations of those who inhabit it, transforming ideas into spaces that are distinctive, functional and enduring.

 In architecture, the studio combines creative vision with solid technical expertise, with a particular focus on the development of planning and licensing documentation and the assessment of applicable legal and regulatory frameworks. This expertise enables the studio to approach projects of varying types and complexity with precision, anticipate constraints and ensure consistency between the architectural vision, technical requirements and administrative procedures involved in each project.

Architecture and interior design are conceived as complementary parts of a unified language. From spatial planning to the selection of materials, colours, textures, lighting and furniture, every decision contributes to a balance between aesthetics, functionality and comfort. The design and development of bespoke furniture further reinforce this approach, bringing exclusivity and continuity to the identity of each space.

Our methodology is based on a holistic vision of each project, combining creativity, technical rigour and attention to detail throughout every stage of development. We place particular importance on the relationship between materials, light and proportions, seeking solutions that respect their context and retain their relevance beyond changing trends.
